"The purpose of the armed force was to change the Iraq regime."

Davin says "no, the purpose of the armed forces is to keep america safe."
The purpose of the armed force was to change the Iraq regime, the purpose of the Armed Forces [US Miltary] is to keep is to keep America safe.

"Please tell me HOW we are safer now? How did our actions reduce the threat?"
We longer need to maintain the "No Fly Zones" over Iraq.

We no longer have to have US miltary in the Holy Land of muslims- Saudi Arabia no longer has that political problem. Having US miltary in Saudi Arabia was a propanganda club which could use to sell the idea of attacking the US and weaken Saudi Arabia govt by implying that the Saudi Arabia govt were puppets or occupied by foreign power. Also radicals muslims see the mere presence of non-muslim in the Holy land as a affront to their religious beliefs. It's all fuel for conspiracy theories, and spreading of crazy rumors.
The cost of the No fly Zone was in the billions and there was the risk we could lose pilots over a hostile terrority.

Saddam was a destablizing affect upon the region.
Saddam was supporting terrorists against Israel. Required US ground troops in Kuwait. Made dealing with Iran and Syria more difficult.
And in general terms was contributing economically depressing the entire region and promoting criminal activity which would be related to encouraging black markets and smuggling.

"We claimed an Iraq/al-queda connection... before the war there wasnt one, there sure as hell is one now!"

There was an Iraq/al-queda connection, how significant this connection was is debatable. What is not debatable is that Iraq was difficult country get intelligence on. What is also not debatable is that Saddam had billions in cash and was corrupting the Oil for Food program, and the result of Saddam's "leadership" was degrading the entire Iraqi society.

"do you think we reduced al-queda recruitment? No we increased it.... 100's of billions that could have been spent on fighting terrorism have been wasted on this war... and what the HELL have we accomplished? Ya we 'liberated' millions of people, but that wasnt the reason for the war, was it? If it was, why arent we 'liberating' the north koreans, the chinese or any one of a dozen african nations?"

Probably, better to refer to the entire global terrorist network- we could completely shut down al-queda, but other groups with similar goals could be increasing in numbers. So if you speaking about al-queda type terror groups, don't know. I wouldn't assume that there is an increase in global terrorists. I know that if we could resolve the Israel Palestinians conflict, that would have a significant affect. I know that Saddam had no interest in resolving this conflict and that he was contributing money to worsen this situation. I know that if the middle east region is prospering that this would improve the chances of resolving it. Saddam goal was to conquer all Arab nation in order to unify the Arab nations [making him some glorious leader which would down in history]. But we know that Arab nation do not need to be conquered, they can through a political process unify. It's in US interest to have unified Arab nations, just as it's in US interests to have a unified Europe. Therefore, if Iraq becomes a democracy which is prospering, this should be lead to this. Now, this isn't an Old Europe solution- Old Europe wanted to opposite. This is the New Europe solution and is also historically been the "naive" American policy.

"This 'war of liberation' that used to be a war about wmd has made the world a more dangerous place for america, so what the hell have we accomplished? "

We have accomplished a lot, in merely getting rid of Saddam. And the progress in Iraq is astoundingly rapid.
