Arguing for argument's sake?

I didn't know that was a bad thing around here?

End of argument.

Let me try to wrap up:

For 2005, 2 billion of the 4.4 billion is US aid.

So are you denying that Afghanistan is a mess outside of a small area around Kabul?

Absolutely not. Afghanistan has been an impoverished war-torn hell-hole for over 25 years. I don't expect change to happen rapidly.

In your spare time if you could post a link substantiating your claim that the money is not going outside Kabul, I would appreciate it.

What was the total (we will use THAT figure since you trotted (Trotted out? Check the link above knucklehead.) out the nacent 4.4 bln) international aid contribution to Afghanistan pre-9/11? Not US aid- but total.

That's not easy to find. The ROW likes to list Foreign Aid as a percentage of GDP and show that they contribute far more than the US in these terms. In 2000, when US aid (cash, not food and supplies) went from 70 to 130 million, Norway was said to have given 3x the amount in %GDP than the US, this works out to about 5 million dollars. Japan was the only one of the giving 'superstars' I found to list the dollar amount of their contribution- 7 million. Looking at today’s ratio, and noting the war had not begun, I think it would be safe to say that the Total was likely less than double the US figure. Approx. 260 million.

And while your at it, are you actually proud of that 1.5 bln figure from the US?

Yes. I am proud of it and think it appropriate for a small ag economy.

Have a nice day,

Rob
