I'm not sure. Ego?

I really am curious as to how you see a legitimate social contract existing globally. But I've wasted more than enough of your time.

Besides, your rejoinder here is not exactly honest. You are remixing our conversation and placing components of it as responses to bits that they wern't responses to (sequence pasted below).

I don't think you're going back in the thread far enough. I believe it started with your statement here

Davin: Its also cited as the intellectual foundation for the modern notion of human rights (Notice VI.B and VI.C). A notion that the US, UN, and EU tend to put a lot of stock in (even if the US bends them from time to time).

In my response here I split 'em up so I could address the first question separately. If that's dishonest, I apologize. I don't think I need to label names in the following conversation. I'm the one acting like an asshole.

Its also cited as the intellectual foundation for the modern notion of human rights (Notice VI.B and VI.C).

LOL. It is? Who besides you has made such a ludicrous claim? Source, please!

A notion that the US, UN, and EU tend to put a lot of stock in (even if the US bends them from time to time).

(I then went on. Sheesh.)

Ever hear tell of a lil concept called "natural law?" Hobbes, Mill, Rousseau, Locke -- any of them ring a bell? You DO know America's founders were big believers in natural law, don't you? And that Jefferson borrowed from Locke when he wrote The Declaration of Independence?

In the same post I said:

Perhaps you could explain how the Nuremberg Principles "cited as the intellectual foundation for the modern notion of human rights" differs from the intellectual foundation laid by the gentlemen I mentioned. I'd love to hear your learned thoughts on the subject.

And you answered <here

Easy, it doesn't differ much- which does not service your point that the fondation (Nuremberg Principles) on which the nazis were prosecuted was 'laughable and ex-post-facto', as you put it. In fact it provides a fine 'jurist and philosophical' grounding. So despite your rather pathetic attempt atr intellectual penache, you sort of kick yourself in the ass here. Intellectually speaking, of course.

I split your first two sentences so I could comment to each, but I don't see that I've dishonestly remixed anything.

It's good that you don't feel sorry about giving me an intellectual ass-kicking. I need deflating from time to time. And it's a valuable public service.

I humbly apologize for all the insults (and intellectual fraudulence). Sometimes I get carried away. I'll stagger away and lick my wounds now. Intellectually speaking, of course.
