"I humbly apologize for all the insults (and intellectual fraudulence). Sometimes I get carried away. I'll stagger away and lick my wounds now. Intellectually speaking, of course. "
Hmmm, I am too tired right now to decide if that is pure cask-stringth single barrel sarcasm or genuine comment(This cold has now extended into week 2 as of 1 hour ago!), because when it is done well, it is indecipherable from genuine sentiment. I will take it as genuine. Intellectually speaking, of course. ;-)
As for the remix-vs-re-parse thing, I honestly don't see where you are coming from, but I'm more than happy to chalk it up to the limit of net communication and my inability to think accurately while sick.
"I really am curious as to how you see a legitimate social contract existing globally."
I guess it really depends on whose notion of social contract and what you mean by globally. 1945-->1950 europe and North America, yeah... One could certainly say there was a social contract lurking there in the implicit sense according to some notions of Social Contract. Frankly, while I certainly don't have any better ideas than Hobbes/Locke/Rousseau/Mill/Burke (etc etc ad nauseum all the way up to the 1990s), I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to philosophical schools, having ridden so many through to the intellectual bitter end. Take that to mean what you will about what I believe to really be true.

- Pathetic response
- Man...
