Wonderful article. I agree on most of what Clarke said except any draw to Islam. I've read enough passages of the Koran to be as wary of its ability to be easily warped into evil. I did love what he had to say about the wonderful science that came out of the area before the "good people of the world" so lovingly came and beat the snot out of the infadels. Hard to believe that an overly inbred and violent area such as Iraq was once the center for knowledge and enlightenment in our world.
