Dole lost an arm in service, irrelevant; Kerry serves 4 months - he must be elected
The current spin on the left and DNC is dizzying. Used to be military service was irrelevant when it was Dole vs Clinton, now military service is everything. It IS to Kerry who has based an entire political career on his brief 4 months in Nam where he alienated the vast majority ( > 95 %) of his swift boat peers and all of his superiors. He accomplished virtually NOTHING on his own in the US Senate unless you count toting up the most liberal voting record.
Amazing how we never heard this service hype from true heros like George McGovern, Bush I and Dole. Just read Stephen Ambrose's McGovern war bio. Very interesting.
