I don't have definite answers, but a lot of good info is available here.
Swiftboats were a small community. There were 6 men assigned to each boat for a normal tour of 1 year. Some didn't stay that long due to death or injury, and others served multiple tours. The site lists 51 KIA.
According to this, it appears all of the Swiftboats were assigned to one squadron that was divided into 6 Coastal Divisions. There doesn't appear to have been more than a few dozen Swiftboats in the country at any time, so the community was pretty small.
I don't have the names of those 250+ Swiftboat vets who have come out against Kerry, so I can't tell how many of them were there at the same time he was. The ad features several people who were in a photo with Kerry, so they were there at the same time, apparently in the same Coastal Division. Those units operated like fighter squadrons. In a small community like that, everyone knows everyone.
