I know you're relatively new, as things go around here. And refreshing to read, too, from my point of view. Mary Anne, Robert, Tony, and you are who keep me from total abandonment...

But: you have Tom pegged. Be thankful you've yet to be overexposed to his pet knee-jerk-isms like "gun to the head" and "collectivist" -- or maybe you have. Once is enough. There are times when I wonder if (like the late St. Ron), he really knows which decade we live in. There are still Commies under the bed in Tom's house. It makes sense that he lives in California, Land of John Birch.

And he's gotten worse over the last year or so.

Sadly, Tony is correct (albeit not right *grin*). Tom is the best thing the Right can exhibit on these pages. With the exception of very few episodes of lucidity on the part of others on that side of the "aisle", the pinnacle of their erudition is Mr. Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc himself.
