Assuming you're talking about the Swift Boats deal (if not, correct me please):
I remember weeks devoted to sixteen words in the State of the Union address, each analysed down to the letter by endless pundits and newspeople.
I remember weeks where squadrons of reporters were devoted to interviewing old guys down in Alabama, poring over records describing Bush's hemmorhoids, parsing the computer code at the bottom of pay sheets, digging endlessly for that one missing clue that would make Bush AWOL or worse.
Now some political action group, funded at a fraction of the level of the Bush destruction shock troops at Moveon.org, comes out with testimony from 200 veterans about Kerry, and suddenly these veterans are the Anti-Christ, the authors attacked for other things, and the very IDEA of reporters checking out their story is considered to be a massive insult to Kerry and his service.
Go figure.
