I have four friends, people I could call, who are Ph. D.s in Math.

All are liberals to a fault.

I asked one today if he knew of any mathematicians who are Republican. He said a couple of computer math people, but the others either didn't have an interest in politics or were libera.

Anecdotal, I know. Doesn't claim to be "scientific". Better than someone's inference from prejudicial stereotypes, though.

And it's an impressive list of scientists who protest Bush's movement back to creationism and God giving the Earth to Man to screw over.
