To suppose that there would be no point to the leading of an ethical human life without the stale pap of a religious belief-system is to exhibit extreme weakness of character oneself. Marx was right-- religion IS the opiate of the people. Respectable people with a strong, independent sense of decency, don't need religion in any shape or form. It's time we all outgrew this childish crap that causes, in fact, the majority of the world's problems. One has to look only at the Middle East to see how much religions have f--ked up the world.
