"This is addressed to all the hard-core, party-line people on the board. Why in the world shouldn't our goal be to have a balance of power in politics instead of only the ideaology you lean to, having all the power? Hasn't history shown to us that countries that have leaned too far to either side have all fallen into chaos eventually? To read the posts on here, you'd think that the only possible political solution is to complete wipe out the other side."
Why try to make an opposition, when opposition will be the reality. This really an effort at masking issues. There is no shortages of things to disagree about, the problem is finding the common ground to agree on. If we agree that terrorism is a problem which important to solve, the debate focuses then on how best to solve this problem.
Sadly, our country has yet reached the point where there is strong agreement that acts of murder for whacked out religious reasons, is something that needs to be the top priority in regards to national security.
The dems are simply nuts. There is no reason why Dems should not support Bush in regards to his foreign policy. It's a liberal foreign policy for god sakes. In what reality is overthrowing a dictator and installing a independent democratic government considered conservative?
When did promoting democracy in the world become a conservative notion? The dems have so badly managed the political aspect of this that they have tossed out their fundemental principles.
It will be a no brainer that Dems are going to be stomped in this election- whose side are they on?
Of course you could say that liberals have invaded the Republican party- just as you could say the conservatives invaded the Clinton "New Democrat" party- the "Era of big government is over".
