I can.

Eject! Eject! Eject!

He says he hasn't been assaulted or robbed, and still he wants to live by the rule of the sharp stick. Well, surprise! I have been assaulted, and robbed, and I find that sharp sticks are not the answer, because I have no interest in lowering the whole world to the level of the jerks and sad sick people who did things that injured me.

Justice is the answer. Sometimes justice carries a sword. More often justice is tempered by mercy. Justice cuts with its edge, but lives in its sheath; a sharp stick is just a stick.

The temptation to violence is great in the wake of violence. Trouble is, it doesn't make things better. It only spreads out the pain so that more people feel it. Misery loves company.

The object of justice is not getting even.

It infuriates me that he claims justice for the women of Afghanistan. The women of Afghanistan suffered for years and years, with only feminist groups hollering on their behalf, and the men of the world just shrugged their shoulders and called it an internal affair. If Al Qaeda hadn't had its headquarters in Afghanistan, or if the Taliban had turned them over, the fate of women there would still be an internal affair, and the Taliban would be our valued allies. Ask the women in Saudi how exercised Americans are about the suffering of women under misogynist regimes. Justice? Convenience, more like.
