Burning down the house to kill the roaches.

The point is that there is nothing on Earth that you could say to him that would keep him from killing you or forcing you to submit to his own worldview.

And the point here is that in the case of your poster terrorist, the killing part is paramount because he hates us, but in the case of US foreign policy, forcing our worldview on other nations is the focus.

During a panel discussion last weekend, I heard an interesting question from the floor that went something like this: "If Iraq doesn't choose a democratic form of government, will we keep overthrowing them until they get it right?" The worldview of the US is a democracy in every nation. The current administration seems intent on developing this worldview by force.

And in the meantime, we kill people who never wanted to hurt us because they're "in the way".

When someone kills a child, it doesn't matter to the parent whether it was an accident or not. Whoever killed the child is the enemy. The only question is whether or not the parent can forgive the killer. A lot depends on the killer's attitude. Even if the killer is contrite, there are parents who will hate the killer with all their might for the rest of their lives. They will teach their remaining children to hate the killer, and preach their hate to their neighbors and relatives. Will some of the people influenced by these parents become terrorists? Maybe. Will many of them not cooperate with the killer? What do you think?
