re: Ask your pastor.

I haven't given Jesus the job of defending me. The Marines and the other members of the military are doing that.

There are a lot of chaplains of many faiths in the military. There are a lot of clergymen who are veterans, and proud of it. Maybe you should ask one of them these questions.

Palestinian children.

Whatever you might say about Israel's military, they have never gotten up in the morning and sat around a table planning a detailed operation that has the specific goal of tormenting and killing children and innocent non-combatants. No Israeli helicopter has ever taken off with a map from headquarters showing a public cafe, a hotel ballroom, a place of worship, or a bus full of civilians as the Target of the Day, with the mission being a success if the maximum number of innocents have died. No Israeli military operation has carefully set explosives around a school full of frightened, hungry and thirsty children, and then sighted down the barrel of a gun and shot naked kids fleeing for their lives.

Motive and intent are a very large part of morality, and that I can't seem to get this point across to some people is a bit scary. Those who see morally equivalence between a child dead from the shrapnel of a bomb that fell on a military target, and one who died from being stalked and deliberately killed by an enemy, are committing an obscenity that negates the very concept of morality, and are operating on a purely perceptual level that permits no abstract analysis.

BTW, I could fill four pages with photos and references of Palestinian children being raised by their parents and trained by their schools to be living weapons and vessels of hate for bloated leaders who live in protected compounds while sucking up the aid money sent from around the world.

Weep for these children, too.
