1. The country is getting dumber by the day, evidenced by the choices in hit movies, reality tv shows and the overwhelming majority of drivers I experience daily.

The famous "They're all so stupid!" myth that seems to be marrow-deep in liberals. Not only is it wrong, it doesn't get you a lot of votes. If you want dumb, try a political party cleaving endlessly to collectivist ideas that are not only in opposition to the values of most Americans, but have wrecked every country where they have been consistently applied. Being slow learners does not make someone look intelligent.

2. The country is scared shitless. 9/11 simply shocked people to the core to the point of irrational behavior and the Republicans played to those fears expertly. Even considering the possibility of a nuclear attack on one of our cities, the odds of any citizen or family being a victim of terrorism in the next decade is smaller than the chance of being hit by a meteorite.

"Hey, at least it wasn't me, and odds are, it won't ever be." Only a microscopic fraction of the black population in the South was lynched. Only seven of all the abortion doctors in America have ever been murdered by lunatics. So obviously, racial and abortion violence weren't "real" issues at all. Do you really want to follow that kind of faulty logic?

3. and 4 are just more liberal stereotypes. If the Democrats can't get past this elitism, they're not going to succeed.

5. Nasty and unsubstantiated attack ads work with the average American. The Republicans showed no remorse in pushing them on us and the Dems had that Achille's Heel of not wanting to be mean.

"Not wanting to be mean?" Holy crap, are you serious? Yeah, the Democrats, Moveon, Moore, the Hollywood goons, and all the rest never said a single nasty thing about Bush. You been vacationing in a parallel universe?

6. ...The other answer I got from Bush supporters was that economically Bush was better for them or their business personally. Not one of them used the term "better for the country".
