and I'm surrounded by a whole lot of dissolutioned people that I helped convince to vote for the first time in their lives. They got to see just how powerless an alternative voice is here in a heavily Republican state.
Holy shit, Trent Franks got nearly double the vote over Randy Camacho for US senator. Franks, with an IQ of about 40 and embroiled in major controversy over influence peddling, was a cohort of our wacked out ex-governor Evan Mecham. Camacho, a moderate Democrat, was extremely intelligent and articulate and ran a classy and issue-oriented campaign. I'm surrounded by this sea of non-imaginative, party-line, moronic citizens in this valley that can't go beyond name-recognition and always marking the candidate with the "R" next to their name.
Basically the message yesterday was that, if I want to have a voice politically in the state of my birth, I have to become involved as a Republican. There is no independence here in Maricopa county. It's either atone or be left out completely. That's a bit sad, don't you think?
