For the record, I'm not defending creationism. Their arguments fall flat in dozens of places on some of the simplest terms, and if you follow the reasoning far enough you arrive at the bizarre concept of a God who created the world in a few days yet deliberately planted detailed and consistent evidence throughout his creation that the universe and our planet evolved through billions of years of astronomy, geology and biology. God with a red rubber nose.
Or to put it more bluntly, most creationists I've known make Lindy look like James Randi.
What irritates me is the special vitriol some civil liberties types seem to reserve for Judeo-Christianity, which in a number of cases seems to be related to something deeper than concern for the Constitution or worries about religion supplanting secular systems.
You only have to see one march where the campus socialists are marching side-by-side with Islamists to know that something a bit odd is going on here.
