I could start with the editorial board of Scientific American. I could move on to a number of physicians - in the case of heroin for the management of intense pain, I would have to include most of the British medical establishment among this number.
There is no question that those who view the dangers of "recreational" or addictive drug use as being so small as to present no hazard to themselves or others, your "druggies", view the hazards from medical use in the same way.
But what you've done here is "invert" their 'logic", and claim that anyone who holds that the hazards from medical use are small also thinks that the hazards from public use are small as well.
I don't know whose "logic" is worse, yours or the "druggies", but I do know that people who are opposed to public drug use, but approve medical drug use, are deeply insulted by your remarks, and appalled to find themselves labeled as "druggies".
You owe them an apology.
