Please help me...I have a Scientific Question...

Does water become more carbonated when the atmosphere it comes into contact with has more CO2 gas contained within it? If so, then is not that carbon then deposited on the sea floor naturally in the form of calcium carbonate (limestone)?

Has anyone ever managed to measure this process?
