"Re-invented Democrats."

The Democratic Party hasn't come up with a new policy or idea in years. Every damn speech Ted Kennedy makes could have been made during the Nixon administration.

Does it bother you when I bring up questions on what the Left has done for America, and most people pipe up with "civil rights?" Hell, some people go back to the 1920s labor laws.

The Left has been on the other side of almost every foreign policy situation since Vietnam. This was especially clear during the Reagan administration. What would Europe, South and Central America, and the Middle East be like today if we had taken the leftist positions on all of these for the past two decades? Sure as hell the Soviet Union would still be alive and well.

Think hard about all the situations where Reagan or others placed themselves in opposition to the Left. Aiding rebel movements fighting communists in our hemisphere. Opposing the Soviets, and refusing to appease. Refusing to unilaterally disarm, or make unilateral military concessions. Remember the term "Evil Empire?" Would you EVER have heard that from Jimmy Carter or Michael Dukakis? Which side thinks the U.N. should be running our foreign policy?

During the Cold War, in every case where the U.S. took a confrontational position, and the Soviets took the other side, which side did the Left always land on?

On domestic policy, who is trying to fix Social Security, and who is trying to boot the problem down the road? Again?

In short, most of the modern Democratic Party, and especially the activist groups that drive them, have policies that are 1960s leftovers. John Kennedy would have no place there any more, never mind someone like Zell Miller.
