re: A compelling case [Caution: Long post]
Doesn't mean much to me.
But he might get his day in court- much more than he could expect the country he came from.
But if this was all the evidence I saw and I was a member of the jury. I would not decide in favor of his case.
Now if he told his story in such a way that it was convincing to me, and if there was additional evidence, I might find him somewhat credible. But obviously if he were in court there would be more evidence offered- no sane lawyer would take the case unless there was more, so we can assume this is the case.
My verdict: not a compelling case.
Got anything better?
