What I believe
Mr. Bush would learn something about the people whose children he sends because he would be one of them.
I believe that when he said to that fundraising event full of high-rollers, "You are my base," he spoke more truth than he did to the rest of us in the entire run-up to the war. Including, perhaps, to himself.
If he told the truth as he knew it, with people informing him that he was wrong, he showed a remarkable lack of caution in sending other people's children into peril. If his own children are there, he will finally understand what that means.
