So unless I had someone die in the Twin Towers, I have nothing to say about 9/11? Unless my kid's a cop, I have nothing to say about crime and supporting the police? Does your brain really work this way?

I'm beginning to see why some people can't get past the casualty count when talking about how a war is being fought or what progress is being made.
