I don't think so.
The city has the duty to see that a living wage is paid by whoever uses it.
Maybe for a communist state that sets wages and prices but not here. It's downright un-American. Repulsive even.
It is the city's duty to provide incentives and reasonable regulation to attract job-providing businesses to the area.
This whole concept of a "living wage" is crap too. Might as well give everyone housing and healthcare. Maybe we should mandate auto makers produce an cheap car. How about food? Yeah that should be free too.
Opportunity still exists.
