A national single-payer plan would not only benefit people, it would benefit corporations...and no, I don't think they're equivalent. It would not only relieve the oligarchs of the direct cost of a "benefit", but of the handicap of competing against companies in every other part of the industrialized world whose societies provide universal health care to the employees. It's not just low wages taking jobs overseas, but lower overall cost of labor.
And that is why corporate America was generally supportive of ObamaCare despite a few high-profile cases of appalling greed and callousness in the food-service industry. Most of them understand it's yet another form of corporate welfare: Socializing what was once a competitive tool to hire good workers, back when that was a problem.
