And frankly, if Iranian Student is who he says he is, which barring any evidence to the contrary so far I am inclined to believe, I chalk his pro-Bush stance up to being underinformed about the President. Iranian Student is living in an information-deprived region, after all. (We are merely living in an information-spun region.) I can understand his opinion: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is an ancient, if not usually accurate, political philosophy.
Do love the new definition of "conservative", though. I'm glad that some conservatives feel the need to defend themselves from the appearance of uncharitableness by putting a string of modifiers in front of their defining adjectival noun. It shows that they have been thinking about the effects that conservative domestic policies have had on the less fortunate.
