First of all I resent the constant implication that I think Bush can do no wrong, or that he is doing an "excellent" job. I am on record on many issues as having strong disagreements with his policies, and I like to think you remember them well enough that I don't have to lay them out. I will if necessary.
I was given a choice between Bush and Kerry. The latter would have been a complete disaster, and many Democrats knew that too, but would have (as exit polls indicated) voted for a ham sandwich if it was running against Bush. I wish I had gotten to vote for Goldwater or Reagan, but they weren't running that time around.
In a Zogby poll held just a couple of months ago, Bush STILL beat Kerry. He lost to almost anyone else the pollster could think of.
The Left, frankly, has gone nuts. Sorry, but there are a lot more "Bowsers" in that party now than there are "Roberts."
The Democratic Party has no apparent function at all any more except the destruction of Bush.
As I pointed out in another thread, three different reports independently concluded that there were no lies or distortions involved. There is no objective evidence for what the Democrats are saying, and volume and polls don't turn bullshit into facts.
The response from the Left to date has been that the reports are all worthless, and that the committees were all "in on it."
Surely, they say, the NEXT report will come out the way they want! And if it doesn't? Why that one will be "fixed" too. You know, like the elections were.
There was a short time a few months ago when the Democrats in the Senate were going to come up with their own "Contract With America" list of proposals, and put them in front of the people, to show the Republicans as obstructionist. They dropped the idea when it turned out it wouldn't deliver the anti-Bush clout they hoped for. And after all, what other purpose could such proposals serve?
I don't know what they think is going to happen between now and 2009. Say Bush is impeached. Then what? I swear not one in five leftists has even thought that far. "Say, Ahab, now that you're tied to that whale by a rope, what's your plan?" They hoping Cheney goes as a package deal? Who's next in line?
They have no plan for the economy other than raising taxes. They have no plan for Iraq other than fleeing, and letting 25 million people burn. They have nothing on immigration, but then neither does Bush. Their entire judiciary policy is wrapped around women flushing fetuses down sinks. Politically, they're bankrupt.
Have you been following the legislation that's actually been passed in the past year?
Just a word to the Democratic Party. Policies matter, so does performance, but nobody is going to vote for a party that's crazy.
