Defending

I don't think you understand the effect of the media and cultural barrage that has been directed at Bush since 2000. And not just in the U.S.

I point out when attacks are not based in fact. If that's a problem, and that's being a Bush buttmonkey, so be it. What's going on right now in Washington and associated areas is a level of irrational hostility I haven't seen since the Left laid into Nixon.

The Left is operating on the premise that if you say something loudly enough, and have enough people saying it, it becomes true. It's not surprising that Bush's polls are down. 24-7 anti-Bush news tends to add up. When it starts showing up on TV shows, there isn't much left. Just because something "resonates with an audience" doesn't make it a fact, and although I don't watch much TV, I am aware of how shows like "West Wing," "Commander in Chief," and others are used.

I posted a reference that pointed out bipartisan investigation after investigation that give the lie to what the Democrats are saying now. It makes no impression here.

Nice of you to comment on Jimmy Carter. He's the opposite end of the pole. A president with arguably the worst domestic perfomance in decades, he has been "blessed" by the media and culture, and swims in a sea of respectability. He was awarded a Nobel Prize specificially for going against Bush. Try to remember ANY other ex-president who had worked so hard to destroy a sitting one. ANY.

I defend Bush when the attacks are wrong. I've blown that stupid poll out of the water, that stupid Italian rumor, and many other things. If I wasn't here, who the hell would do it?
