I have been rooting for my side, sometimes blindly. I need to get back to when I was rooting for America and humanity, and do what’s best for both. Unfortunately that is not always clear and we each have our own vision as how to get there.
Somewhere along the way, I saw people taking sides, like this was some football game, so I took my side. But now I am trying to clear this political fog to see that we are all on the same side and we all want what is best for America and the world.
I try to look long term, but the problem with predicting the future is that some unknown around the corner always bites us in the butt- like 9/11. With the Cold War over I thought for sure that humanity was ready to move closer to a united planet, one that could do things like explore space together and help poorer countries. But 9/11 showed me there are still barbaric groups out there. I want to see a free Middle East- maybe that is blinding me.
Yep, trying to predict the future is tough, but we should have a vision and a goal.
