Too long a topic, but we need to reduce G gasses. See Larry J's post.

#1 would be to build fission plants to generate electricity and minimize the use of coal for that purpose. More fission plants would also be a prerequisite for a shift to a hydrogen burning economy. But the 'environmentalists' like Kerry and Kennedy would go all NIMBY on us.
