Take the argument to whatever level of reduction you want, and tell me what Zarqawi and bin Laden would be doing right now if we had never invaded Iraq, and someone else had been president on 9/11.

You want to know the answers I almost always get? Not just here? If Al Gore had been president, he would have stopped 9/11. If not, he would have caught bin Laden in Afghanistan. Or Pakistan. Or wherever. John Kerry would have "fixed" Iraq.

How? Somehow.

You complain about "reducto ad absurdum?" I'm getting peyote visions as arguments.

The fact is, and believe me I've gone through this before, that the Left in America, and the Democratic Party, have no frigging clue what to do about the Islamists and terrorism, never mind the war in Iraq. Not one. They're hoping they can get back in power simply by running down the current efforts. The Democratic Party has said, in so many words, that they are not going to discuss any plans of their own in Iraq.

But I should thank my lucky stars, I suppose. While the leftists are doing their noisy backseat driving, while not even possessing a learner's permit themselves, at least they aren't behind the wheel.
