Unforrtunately...
...we unwittingly and unnecessarily have spent our nickle on Iraq, enabling both Iran and North Korea to operate with relative impunity. They know we've exhausted our crediblity and resources and can do little to stop them. The Europeans know this as well and are cautious about rattling sabers when they know our quiver is almost empty.
This is why starting a completely unnecessary war in Iraq was contrary to our long term national interest. It was a bad idea, fueled by incompetent naivete and political arrogance.
