Boy, Bowser can sure push buttons. Is what we're seeing in Iraq American democracy? To me it sure doesn't seem to have the Thomas Jeffersons and Samuel Adams characters associated with it. So far I simply haven't seen the same type of noble leaders stepping forth challenging the conventions the various factions seem to embrace. All indications are that country is heading towards an Iranian-backed radical Islamic society, with far less freedom for a vast majority of the country. That's if the country even survives as a whole and doesn't splinter into 3 separate nations.
Our democracy didn't arise from deeply religious zealots but from a desire to escape them. Without that basic foundation of the separation of church and state, which it appears will never catch on there, democracy as we know it is a dead deal.
So, in a way, Bowser's right. What Bush has caused to prosper in Iraq isn't far from Sharia. It's GWB that's labeling it American democracy so, if you don't like the association of the two together, blame him and not Bowser.
