This from the defender of freedom of speech?
Give me a break. There ARE cartoons with Jesus shooting up abortion clinics. There ARE cartoons with bloody crosses, sadistic Christians and Jesus and all sorts of stuff offensive to Christians out there.
What you are saying is that the offensive Muslim actions and beliefs are protected from criticism and parody.
The Christian religion doesn't ban images of God or Jesus. On the other hand the Muslim religion forbids images of Mohammed.* What you are advocating is that we all abide by Sharia and not depict Mohammed.
How convenient. What is it that makes the left bend over backwards to want to accomodate the bloodthirsty repressors of freedom? How can one be pro-women's rights and then make a post like the one above? It's a massive non-sequitur.
Those cartoons are positively mild. I could envision FAR worse.
Suppressing freedom of speech just because it offends some group?
Get real.
You missed your calling to be a French lawmaker, slapping a $6000 fine on Brigitte Bardot for daring to speak her mind. (or the truth)
;-)

*Probably because he was a very unattractive sunstroked crazy-man and early on the Muslim religion sold better when proponents didn't show pictures of the religion's founder. Millions have been sold down the river of hate just because someone effectively kept tearing up early sketches or paintings of Mohammed. Much better to leave him to the adherent's imagination.
It would almost be funny if it weren't so true.
Current Events » in reply to Now I've seen the cartoons. Let's see one of Jesus personally shooting up an abortion clinic.
