Never have I said that free speech should be suppressed. No, nor not in this thread.
We all have an obligation to use free speech in a responsible way. Provoking and insulting people who never did anything to us is not responsible, or civilized.
There will always be tasteless jerks who think that rudeness is funny. That doesn't mean I have to agree with them.
Incidentally, advocating a punishing boycott is also an expression of free speech.
You cheer people who use their freedom to humiliate and anger members of a whole religion by vilifying their most revered prophet, and you also applaud the arrest of one woman for wearing a tee shirt because it might make the President uncomfortable. How about that...
