SDF and REB.
I believe you both, and have had similiar experiences. Just last week there was a story on TV of a California boat captain bumped off his boat in cold water for 5 hours. Craig McCabe prayed and prayed and miraculously he kept finding things to float on until he was rescued by his brother. I find thoughts emit energy, both positive and negative, and you had better watch your thoughts, because they broadcast like a TV station! And yes, I think there IS something to prayer, or positive meditation or whatever your belief system is (whatever you call it).
I also agree with you SDF that kids need more than just a religious upbringing to be able to tell right from wrong and to acertain truth.
I have watched kids from religious homes make more stupid decisons in their adolescence than kids from agnostic homes.
And as for the stranded captain, you can read his story here....pretty <neat.>
