My opening line was just a feeble attempt to prempt Tom's usual defense whenever this topic comes up.
I think Bush is the worst US president in my memory, in many ways - his personal behaviour, his persona, his actions. I have admired most of your presidents in one way or another, and despised some of them in other ways, but I find very little in the way of redeeming qualities in Mr. Bush. That so many Americans don't see or don't care what he (and when I say "he" I mean his administration - ol' George would have never amounted to anything without being propped up by those around him) has done to your great country. And I really do believe the USA is a great country, and is capable of regaining the losses suffered under Bush and rising still higher. I just hope a political force to bring this about can arise sooner rather than later.
The losses of JFK and RFK were great tragedies, IMO.
Good luck to you Americans and to all of us who share this world.
