Just a niggly point - the Liberal party was re-elected in Canada after the invasion of Iraq, but Jean Chretien had retired after losing the leadership of the party to Paul Martin. Martin won one election but lost the last one, almost entirely because of the "sponsorship scandal". The parties' stand on Iraq was a very minor issue, if at all.
