Thanks

It's no secret that I agree with your assessment of Bush as one of America's worst Presidents. There's reason for hope in the way that the system seems to be awakening to expel the noxious substance from the body politic; I'm pretty confident that the system will work yet again to heal the damage.

It's not all about Bush, and I keep hammering on him long after it's become apparent that he's toast because the NeoRepublican ideology behind him has to be eradicated from American politics. I expect a lot of Classic Republicans to agree--Bush and the Neos lied to Republicans as much as anybody else, and the nature of those lies--a gross misrepresentation of their goals and ideology masquerading as Republicanism--must be particularly offensive to true Republicans.

There are good Republicans who maintain that they voted for Bush and the Neos only because the Democrats haven't fielded a strong alternative. Hard to argue, given John Kerry, yet I think that principle should matter more than that. Any President, and any Congress, that's not NeoRepublican would be a distinct improvement. Things will get better in America simply by jettisoning all the pathological policies they've introduced and reversing some of their more destructive legislation, like tax cuts for the wealthy that are guaranteed to bankrupt the government. And don't get me started on the immoral doctrine of "preemptive war"!

Besides, when a President has fallen so low that he's competing for the title of Worst Ever, wouldn't a reasonable person agree that a ham sandwich is a better choice? Better to have no President at all than President Bush.

Latest approval rating: 34%. That's scraping the bare metal of hardcore hyperpartisan support, the people who, thirty years from now, will be bitterly maintaining that Bush was framed, as was Nixon. Bush's approval ratings cannot get any lower by definition--everybody with the mental ability to change their minds have already changed them.

Good luck to you Americans and to all of us who share this world.

Thank you very much. Rest assured that not all Americans have forgotten that we have to share this world. Stay tuned, things will be made right in the near future.
