Robert, "That said, though, don't you perceive distinct differences in the personalities of Liberals and Conservatives? I see characteristic ways of looking at the world, noticeably different tolerances for novelty and change and uncertainty, degree of faith in fixed rulesets, more or less need to know one's place in the social order, willingness to defer to authority, more or less xenophobia, and on and on and on. "
There is some truth in what you said. There are some differences in the way we see some things. But in regards to what Jack posted I think not. I have known both successful Liberals and Conservatives. I have known “Confident, resilient, self-reliant†conservative kids and “whiny†liberal kids, (and vice-versa). Don’t use a broad brush here, especially when the study only included 100 kids.
Whiney spoiled kids tend to come from rich families, be them conservative or liberals (There are rich liberals). Ironically, the parents of these kids are usually “Confident, resilient, self-reliantâ€. The problem is, they give their kids everything. No politics here, just money.
