Examples of aggression

I just don't remember Reagan as anywhere near as belligerant and cocky as Dubya.

Ah, how time fades our memories. During the Reagan administration, liberals were convinced that we would be immensely fortunate to get out of his administration without a nuclear war. In every conflict where liberals insisted we had no business interfering, Reagan backed the anti-Soviet factions. In arms negotiations, he took hardline positions when the Democrats urged compromise and appeasement. Reagan got enormous grief for these things from the media and the usual gangs of idiots.

As I have to gently point out to you and other liberals, Roosevelt, Truman and Johnson are dead. And have been for quite a while, now. As I've said elsewhere, does it bother you that the Democrats have to go back forty years to find greatness?

I selected the names I picked out for a reason. I could have added McGovern to my list. Would that have clarified things?

Carter's stumbling was not a result of his being aggressive. Quite the contrary. And he's showing his colors even more in recent times.

Truman would spit on the modern Democratic Party. They can't even tolerate someone like Lieberman in their ranks any more.

An aside...

Hey Tom, remember how the Republican Congress reacted to Clinton lobbing 400 cruise missiles at Saddam Hussein? Accused him of fabricating the whole thing to distract attention from the Republican Monicagate setup...remember?

The current Accepted Wisdom on the Left is that Saddam had no WMD programs at all since the early 1990s. If you believe this is true, Clinton was lying, or at least mistaken. Can't have it both ways.

Clinton's speech on Desert Fox. Always good to check a bit of history when working with the "Iraq Was Never A Threat" school of thought.

Amazingly, there are some people who have managed to torque their way through this dilemma by insisting that Saddam DID have piles of WMD, but Clinton managed to destroy them all.
