Add to that the Arab nations' deliberate cultivation of the modern Palestinians as a living weapon. Not permitted to settle in Arab nations, not permitted to assimilate themselves into any neighboring area, exiled by force from nations like Jordan, and kept in "refugee camps" for decades.

Almost three generations of Palestinians have been bred to hate, with peacable leaders culled out of the population by the haters using assassination.

The last thing in the world that surrounding Arab nations want to see is a contented and peaceful Palestinian people, either in a nation of their own (which for some reason can't be created from the enormous acreage of the Arab world) or in any other nation.

A Hamas-led Palestinian nation is much more useful to the Arab world than one led by moderates.
