"Being Jewish isn't as much a religion as it is a culture"

Jew=Yahuda
Israel=Jacob, grandson of Abraham.

The nation and "culture" are both named after key religious figures. Denial of the complete and total dominance of religion in both Israel's formation and current politics is either the result of a state of denial or merely trying to be disingenuous.

While, technically, the government may be secular, that really does not factor into Islam's hostilities towards the state and what it represents. Israel, to them, doesn't represent a "culture" but a collected group of people who share the Jewish faith.

While it may be popular for many Jews in Israel, North America and western nations to view Israel as a sort of PC cultural & religious smorgasboard gathered under the Israel banner - that, again, is NOT the way it is viewed by Islam or other nations not versed in such western PC conceptualizations.
