Has it escaped your attention that one of the longest-lasting of all the grievances against Israel that the Palestinians have is that the new Israeli state expropriated Palestinian property? The Arabs refused to give up what they already owned, and it was taken from them.
Re: your remark about immigration: There's more to welcoming than official permission. To live in a place, one must be accepted by one's neighbors. (I point out, by way of example, that the black children of Little Rock, AR, still needed Federal marshals to protect them on their way to and from school, even though they had government permission to be there.) Neither the Turks nor the British, as the ruling group, were living in amongst the Jews. The Arabs were. Their opinion and actions meant more in day-to-day living than the people who made policy from the imperial offices. That there were Jewish residents of Palestine who lived and worshiped peacefully before the modern state of Israel existed is evidence enough that Arabs were not inherently anti-Semitic (being Semites themselves) before the current fight over real estate, sacred lands, and water.
Your challenge concerning the safety of Jewish places of worship in Muslim Arab locations presupposes that one criminal or group of criminals sets the standard of behavior for all the people who live there. That is a fallacy. It does mean that Jews are in danger from the criminals, but this is true of many minority populations in lots of different societies.
Based on your remarks over time, I conclude that you hate Muslims, and Arab Muslims most of all. That's too bad. We'll never make any progress that way.
Flame » in reply to The history of 1948-1967 contradicts that notion
By 1948, the Arabs, who had welcomed the Jews as immigrants in the decades between the world wars, were at war with Israel.
