Here on the HZ we daily experience or witness man versus man and every now and then we are forced to realize the REAL challenge is man versus nature.

Out here it reached 128. The weather service, news agencies always lie about the temperature once it gets above 115 out here. Today they said it reached 119. I realized after the first summer here that they always start subtracting five or ten degrees from the real temperature once it gets that hot. Why? I guess to keep folks moving out here and to keep a misleading summer monthly average of only "106" degrees, which still seems survivable.

When its a 128 degrees outside even a freshly recharged R-134 refrigerant system in one's car blows warm air for the first ten-fifteen minutes before it gets "cooler".

I want my Freon!

It's a global warming conspiracy, I tell you!

Now, you also get to see how those folks in the middle-east (who live all summer long, every year since their childhood without a/c and these temperatures) are literally often mentally ill due to repeated heat exhaustion etcetera and are quick to anger/violence.
