Heat and age

After Hurricane Charlie ripped through Florida in three hours and left us without power for five days in 98` heat with 98` humidity, I felt at times like I couldn't breathe....or even move.

I had to take the lid off my fish tank and pull out stale warm water and add cool tap water every few hours, and damn if those fish didn't survive all those days with us. The cats lay around just as miserable.
I now have a brand new generator, a window air conditioner and five ten gallon gas cans. NEVER again.

I'll never forget when my daughter flew in from Chicago, landed in Tampa and drove through central florida's destruction to Sebring with a huge cooler full of ice and beer.........yesiree.
And when Progress Energy rolled into town and were working on the power lines. Everyone was honkin and giving them high fives.
Yeah, look at St. Louis. It can happen anywhere. Everyone better get prepared, food and all.

And hey, I AM moving north....so I can breathe.
Screw global warming.
