Look at how scientists are being treated who dissent from the Conventional Wisdom, and you can see why someone might want to see their own results a certain way.

Have you noticed that no matter WHAT the climactic indicator, it's from global warming? More precipitation. Less precipitation. Colder weather. Warmer weather. You name it.

This was supposed to be the Mother of All Hurricane Seasons. If it had been, this would have been touted as absolute proof of the global warming danger. Note that the hurricane season was a complete dud (thank goodness). Anybody touting that as proof of a trend?
