Well then I guess if there weren't as many major hurricanes as predicted ONE SEASON then, despite all the scientific data and models not to mention the laws of physics, warming oceans don't really have an effect on the size of hurricanes do they? Or more importantly, it is PROOF POSITIVE GLOBAL WARMING ISN'T REALLY HAPPENING right? And the north pole hasn't lost any ice over the last few decades either right? I'm sure those ice measurements from the 60s and 70s were all wrong. Greenland's glacier melting? Not a problem! Some snow still falls up there right? Every time snow falls it's clear the global warming scientists are all con men! Desertifcation? That only happens in Sudan right? Can't happen int he good ol' USofA! F 'em all! Rising sea levels? No way! I bet the continents are sinking! If not then surely sea levels will drop a tenth of a milimeter one of these years disproving the whole thing!
And your model that shows a temperature correlation with carbon in the atmosphere, yeah it's the temperture CAUSING THE CARBON, not the reverse! Brilliant Tom! So why worry about all the carbon based emissions humans dump into the atmosphere! All our industries and autos couldn't possible be causing an increase in carbon in the atmosphere that is warming the planet...
Let's cut the denialist crap, Tom. Let's examine your arguments. Your refutations usually take two lines: First is that all global warming science is a con job on a massive scale. Yeah so is evolution to the fundies. That's a comparable analogy. A few scientists espouse creationism and look at how they are treated by the rest of the scientific community! They evolutionary scientists are doing this to support their anti-christian political agenda! There's no real proof!
Your second tact is to site the extremist environmentalists and how they will throw us back into the dark ages with their anti-industrialism. No serious person supports the extremists. The truth is there are ways we can convert to clean energy without destroying our industrial base (sure it will be painful to some sectors but that's the way capitalism is also), and in fact expanding it. Think what it would do for our economy if America became the world's supplier of clean energy.
So, what if it's not a giant con job, and what if converting to clean energy wouldn't throw us back in the dark ages? Please consider the logical conclusions of those two realities.
