I studied Hinduism for a whole year, yet I do not worship Shiva. I know who he is, though. As did Robert Oppenheimer.

I studied Roman Catholicism for 18 years, yet I am agnostic. The smell of frankincense makes me sentimental, but I don't feel a need to keep it in the house.

What a pass we have come to, to believe that if someone has, perhaps, studied a thing, it means that he has been assimilated.

I don't know whether Obama studied Wahhabism or not, but if he did, you can bet he understands it better than John McCain.

I apologize to both Robert and TB for keeping this thing on the front page; I'm attracted to things that scurry out of the woodwork at the moment. We'll be having cockroach storytime in two weeks. So, back to curriculum development. (Can you believe there are no cockroach fingerplays??? I'll have to write a couple. I've had to write my own song lyrics, too. La Cucharacha alone just won't do it with a bunch of anglophones...)
